It might be a pinched nerve. My mom had a pinched nerve in her lower back that caused her right upper leg to hurt like hell. She got to the point where she could barely drive. Couldn't stand sitting and it hurt her to even press down on the gas petal. Had surgery on her back, and it fixed the problem.

Go see a Doc and see what he suggests. My moms problem only go worse and it took her a while her self to go see a doc. Maybe if you go see one down, some daily stretching and massaging will help ease the pain and get ride of it all together before surgery is required.
