Lol, got you Brits confused? In many other countries Yankee is a term for anyone American. However it is different here in the US, A Yankee is a person usually from the northern parts of the US that usually talks more proper and has a "northern accent." A Southerner aka as Dixie is usually a person living in the southern US and has a "southern accent." We also tend to use words that don't exist, like "fixin to do something" instead of saying "about to do something." Contrary to popular belief we are not illiterate, stupid, backwards, and imbred people like some poeple from the West Coast and the Northern US like to think, well at least most of us aren't.
