And they did wear armour, but not full body armour as the reviewer was insinuating. The way the review was written it sounded like he took offence to the fact that man skin was on display. God knows what he would have thought if they were wearing a skirted tunic.
Yeah it is an odd tack to take. I mean if I wanted to critique the film from a historical perspective I wouldn't pick on the armour. The more disappointing part is the disappearance of all the other Greeks who fought along side the Spartans at thermopylae a bit like making the Alamo and omitting all the Engish, Scots and Irish but then I guess you'd have to rename it 5000ish.
