My friend and I both listened to the three tones and at first we thought we could not hear the 18k at all... However, with everything else quiet in the room, we did hear it (barely, but it was there).

We are both 21 years old, and it seems that we are both fairly close to losing the 18k in our hearing. It could have been the speakers. I was just listening to it on my toshiba laptop speakers. I will try it on my klipschs to see if I can hear the 18 more clearly.
