Default Ok, what? restraining order?
This is completly bizarre, and you guys will get a kick out of it at my expense

I had been seing a girl for a few weeks over a month ago (she is 25, I'm 28), nothing physical as she wanted to take it slow, just the usual early dating stuff. She sent me over 200 emails and 100 text messages, kinda over the top, but I thought hell why not go with it. I saw her probably only 6 times, the second last time she dropped by to give me her old mobile phone as mine simply couldn't hold a charge for the hour or so our conversations lasted. Seems like she likes me alot eh? Next time and last time I see her was when she invited me to meet her workmates at the pub, she got drunk and told me how much she looked forward to seeing me, said her friends liked me blah blah blah. Obviously I was thinking things are going well, I can't wait till she gets back from visiting her mum (she was going away for a week).

Well damn, did it all got to **** after that. We talked like usual while she was away, but something was up. On her return she didn't see me, and the next day told me via email it wouldn't work. She liked me but it was distracting her from her chartered accountant degree given that we couldn't see each other as much as she wanted, so she thought it best to break up. Naturally I was stunned, how could she like me and break up?

Fast forward to today, the police phoned and said I need to come down to the station tomorrow to sign a restraining order [shocked]
I've contacted her 4 times asking if we could simply meet up and talk, on all occasions she had said no. The second last she threatened a restraining order, I thought she was bluffing and waited 2 weeks before phoning again. Mistake.

Now I don't know what the deal is with these things, what's the deal? Do I need to go to court? or is this just a declaration I sign. I never threatened her, hell I was too nice to be honest.
She is just a complete wacko, I know that now but it's too late

I still can't believe it, apart from the obvious advice of keeping clear (which I will do, hell I can't get far enough away now), anyone actually know what my rights are? I know the laws are different, but Australian law is based of the UK system usually.
