To be honest you really couldn't go wrong with the new shape Ford Fiesta diesel. it's a 1.4 diesel, it has a lot more poke than a 1.4 petrol, it's very cheap to insure, gets excellent mpg, low tax, it's a nice drive and for a small car there's plenty of room.

People try to put ya off by saying 'it's a ford' but you'd be a muppet to discount a good deal based solely on the manufacturer that makes it ford to make decent cars. You'll get a fairly new one for £8,000
