I think what talib-ilm means when he says "true work" and this I also know from my father who is an old worker and old "faisal" for his city, is the same way Dawah is mentioned in the Ahadith, in addition to all the rightful avenues taken by our elders. The wrong understanding of the Dawat wa Tabligh nowadays is the phrase "Yahi hai Kaam !" THIS is the work! (and any work beside this is not the real work)

As my father explains, there are many ways of Dawah. Wearing of Sunnah clothes, adorning beard and Husn e Ikhlaq are all Tabligh. This is what was emphasized by Maulana Ilyas RA in his Malfuzat as well. His primary purpose was not to create Ulema, or that everyone becomes a 40 Days Worker or 4 months.. rather it was that the reality of Deen is instilled in their heats and they become beloved to Allah. That they abide by Salat and other basic duties of Islam, which I think is the purpose of any Islamic Dawah institution or Tarteeb.
