for the post brother, do you have any advice/tips on getting to the highest level when praying and especially maintaining it?

A qualified scholar or a Shaykh can advise you better.

But in my opinion to perfect the Salaah going out in jamaat helps a lot.If you haven't been in jamat till now I advise you leave for at least 3 days.I have observed Tableeghi brothers doing lot of mashk(practise) to perfect the salaah.And in jamaat too, a lot of importance is given towards improving and perfecting the salaah and maintaining it.
