A few weeks ago I was in Germany for a conference. I arrived early and went for a walk through the city. At a stand Muslims were handing out books with their personal explanations about Islam. They told me this book was the Koran and explained what Islam is and what the Koran represents. I found out later they were Salafis and that National Security has a close eye on their activities. Looking at the book they gave me, I see it is in German only, the title says it is "The Noble Koran, an approximate meaning in German". Inside, quite a few sentences are indeed interpretations of the original, as some meanings have been changed. My question is: would anyone here consider this book as being the Koran? Would this book be treated with the same reverence as the Koran you have at home?
