Bangladesh have a very few good ulema.
There are many parties 1. Awami league (secularist) 2. BNP (secularist) 3. Jamati Islami (marxist interpreation of Islam)
Secondly the religious party such JI has no credibility and have no problem being violent.
I hate them the most and more so then others as they use drag religion through mud. In UK the likes LMC are JI affilate (IFE) and nothing more then street thugs with a banner of religion. You will find all sorts in their organisation from Quranist to Lamadhabi etc (in bangladesh).
Religious people are lumped with them mistakingly even though they don't share any of their view.
Bangladesh is generally a secular country but god fearing.
Just like pakistanis the most unsophisticated people migrated to the west.
the deo affiate senior scholar adopt a pragmatic stance but generally shy away from politics.
Unlike the past, these days generally people with vested interested gets into politics hence corruption is rife. You have to have a skin of rhino to be a politician.

I think to compare them with Ikhwan is stretching it a bit. Ikhwan have public support.
The JI are not trusted and limited or no support.
As for Mr. Mawdudi, was not a qualified scholar but have produced some good work in his early days and had support from many of the deo scholars, however they removed their support correctly but as a rule, most of his work at later part of his life should be binned.
Assalamu alaykum.

Why is JI rejected in Indian sub-continent.

They place themselves above others (the general masses). They hate the general masses. So, (for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction), the masses reject them and hate them. In politics, healthy relations should exist.

There are a few among us who think they ONLY have the capability to rule or lead (they placed themselves, no one offered them that position), it is their illusion. General public is clever in selecting or electing who should lead them.

They hate and slander the ulema (my every day personal experience). But Alhamdulillah there are good relations between muslims and the ulema. (Dost ka dushman dost naheen hota).

My relative was saying "We read quran, you read hadeeth, quran is above hadeeth, so we are better"
