You are assuming that people in power are better placed at deciding who gets what (through taxation). They are not. Sadaqa and charity giving is a voluntery act of individuals. People are only selfish because they live in a riba based economy where money is tightly controlled by afew banker elites. Many taxes are collected by governments to go towards interest payments to bankers and the so called National Debt. It is all corrupt.
