Thanks for your advice. I agree with the resources. Culture shock shouldn`t be a major issue for me as I have quickly adapted towards my wife`s culture. I wear kurta/shalwar even when I head out to run errands. As far as security issue I have been able to blend in well due to my Hispanic figure but then again somehow there are people whom knows that I`m a foreigner without even hearing my accent.

I would definitely consider it. People generally discourage(correctly) by default, but in your particular situation it sound like a great idea to me.
