Its been a long time since I asked this. Ulema from the subcontinent will be better placed in answering this.
Any ways, The Madarsa Islah in UP, India has been a hotbed of Jamaat Islami activism. Many leaders of jamaat (Past and present) are an alumni of this school.
Maulana Ameen Ahsan Islahi was a vice-president of Jamaat till he resigned from it.
His student was Dr. Israr Ahmed whose Quran dars are influenced by Maulana Ameen Ahsan Islahi's Tadabbur e Quran.
