السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته

Very important as well as subtle point mentioned here. Often we may unwittingly stray from the moderate path whilst thinking ourselves still to be on it, which is one of the wisdoms of committing ourselves to a spiritual guide (Shaykh) I believe.

Another interesting observation is that the Ahlu 's-Sunnah Wa 'l-Jamaa'ah is characterised by moderation. While certain groups go to an extreme with regards to the love of the prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم that they begin committing innovations, and other groups combat this by moving over to the other extreme and denouncing many acts of worship as innovations, the Ahlu 's-Sunnah Wa 'l-Jamaa'ah can normally be found in the middle of either extremes.
