I have 5 grown up children; two daughters and three sons.

One daughter speaks to me, and the other one won't because I abandoned Christianity.

One son refuses to talk to me, and the other two will sometimes, but not often.

No, I haven't gotten remarried but I would like to.

About 5 years ago I meet a sister through some friends. We wanted to get married. I knew her father and brother at the mosque. When her and the wali contacted them. They refused to even meet with me. I wasn't from her country or tribe. Plus, I was white.

I was really blown away. They are known at the masjid to be a really religious family. But chose culture over Deen.

It was my first experience with racism between muslims. Before that I naively believed that there was No racism in Islam. Took me about a year to recover from that situation. I basically have been reluctant to try again.

I never knew Christians were like that? Interesting brother. Inshallah I hope things work out for you.
In Australia all the masjids are either Turkish, Albanian, bosnian, Lebanese etc and I have found major racism in all these masjids, but we have salafi majids also and they don't associate any culture what so ever in the masjid. Alhamdulilah the sheikh is always talking about marrying other nationalities, mixing with others and not associating colour/culture in our lives.
Islam is not about colour or race it's about Islam only & those who do this will surely pay on the day of judgement.
The local Turkish community at one stage were going to change all prayers, duaas etc to be in Turkish, when I recently went Turkish masjid they even do Khutba in Turkish even though there are many Arab speaking people?
Wallah it amazes me that we have communities that call themselves Muslims, but hate Arabs and are not shy in saying it despite the many Hadith where our profit saws spoke of loving Arabs etc...???.?
