We also need to remember to ask for forgiveness from anyone whose rights we may have transgressed or fulfill any rights we may have neglected.

I learned this in class recently:
* True taubah - is taubah that the person makes with sincerity - fulfilling certain conditions like: having remorse, making istighfaar, having firm intention not to commit the sin again and fulfilling any rights towards others or asking forgiveness from those whose rights we may have violated.
* If we make such a taubah, we should have firm hope that Allah (SWT) will accept it.
* If we fall into the same sin again, it will not nullify our previous taubah but we will have to make a new taubah for this new sin (remembering to have remorse, make istighfaar, and have firm intention not to commit the sin again... and have firm hope that Allah (SWT) will accept our taubah).
