the modernists and secularists collaborate with the kuffar to reform and dismantle islam.

their are 2 main schools of thought amongst them.

1. the quran only group. they deny that the sunna is divine and reject hadith all together. they then claim that the quran is open to interpretation for all of us and reinterpret the text to try and make haram into halal and look for ways to negate any sharia command they disapprove of. (taj harvey and ziauddin sardar are good examples).

2. this group accepts the authenticity of quran and sunnah but attempt to reform the sharia around the maqasid. they elevate the maqasid beyond their place and make false ijtihad and as a result they make homosexuality, secularism and many other things halal. they then seek to eradicate any sharia rulings they disapprove of e.g. hadd punishments, khilafa, warfare e.t.c. (the quillam foundation is a good example)

both groups have already decided what islam is and then seek to reshape the religion around their false desires.
