Yes, it's time for another one of these threads again So basically, I need a sufi Shaykh, preferably Deobandi (because I like their approach to fiqh and so forth) but doesn't have to be... strict on the sunnah, gentle with the believers type of shaykh. Someone who I can have a correspondence with on a regular basis, maybe through email... doesn't have to be local to me (Birmingham)... in fact, since my family/community is all barelwi, maybe he shouldn't be local lol, otherwise I'll just get hassled if they find out I'm bayah to a Deobandi Shaykh down the road or something. I like the Naqshbandi tariqah but I don't mind any, as long as the Shaykh is good. Preferably an aalim

Any suggestions?

P.S I request a general du'a for me from anyone reading the thread

May Allah give you a sheikh which is full of true knowledge of Islam and will benefit you in all aspects. Can you tell me akhi, are there such sheikhs available who can be like a spiritual guide (i.e. someone who can help you spiritually, through naseeha and listening to your internal issues)? I've never come across them. Most of those I know are too busy and I feel ashamed to trouble them with more than which they can handle. Examples please of some who will? Not trying to derail the thread but actually further emphasise your question for any sufi sheikhs (except I would like mine from deobandi hanafi tablighi like hasan ali).
