Dr. Atif told a very logical thing on this matter in another thread (like this)- Pakistanis think Afghan Taliban are real Mujahideen because they are on the other side of Pakistan's border. But they don't accept TTP completely because they are inside of Pakistan.
I've seen among many Pakistanis that they appreciate the present system of the country. They don't expect complete Shariah implementation.

Yes, this I think is the quote I was talking about. It makes sense. But I don't think all the criticism against TTP boils down just to this element - at least, not for all people criticising them.

But could I ask what exactly these experiences have led the people you mention to think that TTP are not 100% and so forth?

I'm not exactly sure, that's why I'm confused myself. I've heard things as people got killed just for not growing a fistful beard or having trousers below ankle (indeed I agree that both are sinful actions, but can't be punished with death), and so on.
Also on the other thread some (pro-mujahidin, not secularists) brothers mentioned of TTP justifying hitting civilians in their own video (unfortunately I don't understand urdu).
The impression I have is that there may be proper "extremists" elements influenced by takfiri salafi-jihadi ideologies, and creating havoc due to this.

Allahu knows best.
