A lot of motivational gurus have a focus more on the pyscological aspects of interaction and do not provide solutions i.e. theoretical; although they do/may have experience and case studies to validate the findings.

Tabligh has allowed hands on experience in interacting with people in variety of levels and requires you to adopt quickly if you fail in an interaction and improve but provides more experienced individual(s) (mentors) to provide that support. Although the intention is to give dawah the principals of interactions apply. The more you do it even if you have exceptionally poor communication skills will over a matter of time see you having amazing communication skills.

I am not totally sure how that is achieved in tassawuff and may have missed something here?
