Greetings. I know little about Islam but I am interested in learning more. In particular, I am interested in Islam’s vision for humanity in the larger universe – where would Islam like to take civilization in the future? I am a very cosmic and mystically oriented person; when I look up at the clear night skies here in the Arizona desert I am filled with awe and a sense that there is some kind of spiritual force up there. I have even begun to think of myself as a Jedi and am exploring that path as well. I have a mystical idea that there are great revelations awaiting humanity up in space, as the spiritual experiences of some of the astronauts suggest (google “Overview Effect”). So, do Muslims look up at the cosmos and want to go there, or are they satisfied with a brief life down here on earth before passing on to the next world? Thank you, and may the Force be with you…
InshaAllah if we last that long and are not set back by peak oil and global warming I think we will have fun in space as technology develops.

Some notable Islamic mystics and thinkers have already discussed various fascinating things like space travel and other worlds centuries ago.

In Islam we have some hadeeth that may lead us to believe that there are other earths with other Prophet (as), but that we are on the best of these

- can these other earths ever interact? Allahualim
