Salaam. i dont want to sound rude and ignorant but education is deeni education. However this dosent mean you cant pursue a career in your specific field. How about doing both of them ? Why not study engineering or whatever discipline and study islamic sciences with the scholars within the current country you reside in. Far to often people drop everything and wish to study at an Islamic University. They seem to ignore the people who have successfully achieved success by studying both deen and also pursing a career in the Dunya. My advice to you is not to take the apaprent eas way out, but rather do both your desired degree and study at the feet of the scholars. you may think this is hard but isnt work hard anyway?
But the thing is death is still a reality, after all what if you spend 4 years studying accountacy only to find that Allah had decreed that you do die a year after, then your dunya degree would be an absolute waste of time. Inshallah I will do a thread with more information about my current situation so I can get advice because with all respects to what you said I am sort of considering doing the degree and studying islam at the same time. Becuase I sort of agree with you it is a big move to go to a different contry and study islam and it is not necessarly good idea if you've got parents at home who may need you. So in a way I agree with you and Abdullah but still in my heart I have huge zeal and desire to study islam fully and intensively.
