Imam Abu Hanifa (raa) supported the revolution of Imam Zayd ibn Ali (raa) against the Ummayads who were strong.

Imam Abu Hanifa (raa) and Imam Malik (raa) both supported the revolution of Nafs Zakiyya bin Abdullah bin Hasan (raa) against the Abbasids who were also strong.

This information may be found in Sheikh Muhammad Abu Zahra's biographies of these Imams.
