I think its more than just pleasing a child (not that is a bad thing). She feels she has hurt someone. Not only come here and apologise, she will willing to give gift on their behalf. A great gesture indeed.

Sometimes for own our spiritual growth we have to go the extra mile. Instead of merely asking for forgiveness, going a step further and give charity on behalf of the people that you've hurt. Also, I've realised perhaps giving charity for people that have hurt you may help your spiritual growth aswell
