If being a 'light' salafi worked out and allowed you to practice then stick to it instead of confusing yourself on Islam and putting your imaan and practice in danger.
Sufism is not a seperate religion, sufis practice shariat and do zikrullah and keep a spiritual connection with a shaykh who acts as a spiritual mentor, you find a compatible shaykh who you can relate to you and he through his experience and his connection with Allah he guides you establishing a closer connection to Allah through various muamulaat from shariat. If he contradicts shariat or opposes shariat as many fake sufis do then run a million miles. Many sufi shaykhs are dodgy though the many hidden gems who don't publicise themselves, many shaykhs are scholars.
Bayat is not mandatory, the companionship of the shaykh and his advices are recommended as a means of bettering oneself. Sufism is not in the books it is in the company of the righteous shaykh.
All these terms could easily mean something else, a person connects to a shaykh to better his spiritual heart and practice upon shariat.
Don't overcomplicate something simple, again there are may fake sufis, let me know where you leave and maybe we can recommend someone righteous.
If this situation is damaging your imaan then stick to light salafi, though be open minded.
