One of the numerous western techniques to undermine Islam is to assert that it is a mere rehashing of earlier teachings. To an unwary person this might sound like a big blow to the beautiful edifice. In reality it is nothing more than a paper tiger. The Noble Qur'an clearly acknowledges the old teachings were also from God and then moves on to other things after telling us that the earlier teachings were modified by their practitioners and that the Noble Qur'an will be protected by God for later times.

But then there is another golden rule, discovered about a century ago in Germany, that if you keep repeating a lie then it shall become a truth. The latest practitioner of this sorcery is Tom Holland. Poor intellectual fails to get any historical evidence for Islam. And he is kind enough not to declare Islam ahistorical.
