  • ARABIC QUR'AN - Reciting the Qur'an in Arabic is a must.
  • TRANSLATION - is handy and sufficient if all you are looking for advice or lessons for yourself.
  • TAFSEER - a sound tafseer or the guidance of a proper teacher is necessary to understand the laws and legal orders as taught by Muhammad .

The tafseer I have contains both the Arabic and the translation so it should be sufficient. That said, since the tafseer is very large (8 volumes) and not easy to reference, a translation is good to have on hand as well. Also, it is beneficial to have an Arabic Qur'an for recitations and I would imagine (correct me if I'm wrong), to have the pure word void of any translation or tafseer.

that is basically what mufti sahib is trying to say.
which tafseer have u got
