Has anybody heard from the scholars/mashayikh, or read in any authentic books as to how a person can determine whether they are progressing spiritually or not, and is there any indication in our lives that would actas a gauge as to whether or not our aamal are being accepted? I only ask so that I can take solace from theseindications, yet at the same time I make dua that Allah Subhanu Wa Tala saves me from pride.

yes brother if u are talking about muraqbat then with each muraqbat there is noor which is abosrbed by the rooh and u start to develop the spiritual states in ur qalb, this shows u are progressing.

with ammal, their effect take place in ur life. like for example quran says that salat protect against zina and dirty things, if u find u are reading namaz but still look at porno it means that ur namaz are being accepted. tasbeehs have their effects on ur iman, if these effects are not generating, ur ammal are not being accepted.
