Yes brother he is talking about the 5 pillar's only.

He say's only 5 pillar's are fardh.

So how should i answer him?

Ask him if eating halal meat is compulsory or not, and where it is in the five pillars.. : )

Anyway, don't loose your time trying to reply to each and any thing you hear from ignorant people, just present them the truth and then leave them alone and make du'a' that Allah guides them, that's it.
