When will will this beard, mawlid, aqeedah debates end? Can't we all follow our own madhabs and remain silent?
Perhaps I should shut up first...

I just want to know why, if the beard is wajib, the notion has become so widespread in the Indian subcontinent that it is "only sunnah". How did this happen? Who began to spread this belief? Even some "religious" desis I know often keep a very short beard and tell me to trim as well. Allah save us.
