The beard has to be a minimum of a fist length on each side so it should be a fist length evenly.

As for the Saudis, then bring up the narration about Ibn Umar

. They are probably aware of it and will say something like, "This was the practice of Ibn Umar

alone and is not proven from Rasoolullah

". To that, ask them who knows the sunnah better: these scholars or Ibn Umar
