The vast majority of actual Sayyid people are Sunni. Note that even the '6th Imam' Ja'far as-Sadiq (RA) was not a Shi'a - in fact he was the teacher of Imam Malik and Imam Abu Hanifa (RA) and when he was dying he referred people to Imam Malik - NOT to any Shi'a. That alone is proof for the illegitimacy of the Shi'a claim on the great Imam.

Look at scholars such as Shaykh Muhammad ibn Yahya an-Ninowy, Shaykh Muhammad al-Ya'qoubi, Shaykh Salek bin Siddina amongst many many others to see the real Ahl-al-Bayt in our times.

I don't think so because A lot of shia literature say that Jafar as Sadiq was a shia. Just because he taught Imam abu hanifa and Malik does not mean that he was a sunni. You should be careful to use this argument on jafar as sadiq teaching Abu hanifa and malik. Shia muslims use this argument all the time to justify Jafar as sadiq being better than the other imams you have mentioned.

Regardless of whether or not he was shia or sunni, All syed people, whether shia or sunni, claim ancestry from one of the 12 Shia Imams. Implying that even sunnis have shia background. If this is true, then this would imply that they are more shia syeds than sunni ones.

I didn't think that there were more Sunni syeds than shia ones. Is there any proof on this?
