I'm from Mississippi, so you know I know the good stuff.

Dickeys and a lotta the new chain BBQ places just pour the sauce over precooked meat.

I'd call that false advertising.
I agree, although there are two chains that aren't bad, one is Tony Roma's and the other is Bill Miller's BBQ.

More often than not, chain BBQ places or even theme restaurants that sell BBQ fuck it up, make it less worthwhile and even possibly indigestion that'll last for longer longer that what is necessary.

I do agree, the better places to garner BBQ are the hole in the wall mom & pop joints, especially so in Mississippi, I tend too look for the places that have old large black women cooking, that way, if I'm not in the mood for BBQ, there's always fried catfish, in which to my amazement is also available for breakfast, with grits, biscuits, and gravy, you just can't beat it, that the price is usually reasonable, I'm convinced that's why everything moves just a little bit slower than elsewhere.
