For now, I'll stick to reading the Qur'an, learning as much as I can about seerah and making decisions within those limits.


But, this is now how Islam work, nor it never worked like this.
Rather, it's a modern form of "DIY Islam".
I can understand it's "uneasy" if someone has been used to just form his own ideas in his mind through reading the translation of the Qur'an and the sirah (it happens so often), but simply, that's not the way in which has even worked.

I can also understand that the proper methodology of Islamic sciences may seem "complicated", but actually it's about competence and specialization: we're talking about our most precious thing here, and we need to "handle" it with the utmost care and most proper etiquette and caution.
