In the Hanafi madhhab, calmness in salah is extremely important. Crying excessively can break one's salah - unless it is done without control due to the remembrance of Allah . Forcing cries (i.e. yelling and screaming that people sometimes do during salah) would break salah (e.g. some people like to do this because they hear the imam crying). If cries come involuntarily, that is another thing and is actually a good thing.

I don't think any imam makes a habit out of crying too much...they shouldn't let their crying affect their recitation and if it does, they should repeat the verse properly.
