Asalamu Alaykum. Would anyone try doing his best and answer these questions?

I wish to know who was Dhul Qarnain? (historically, not religiously)
I mean we know when the prohets died and lived and we know for how many years, we also know that Dhul Qarnain knew Abraham so why don't we know what time Dhul Qarnain lived?

Also, there goes a lot of thoughts about him being Alexander the Great, or Cyrus, and other guys. Also the gate of Ya'Jooj and Ma'jooj.

How come we haven't seen it if it's so big? And why can't we see Ya'jooj and Ma'jooj with so advanced stuff, ain't they huge things? And ain't they 999 times more than humans?

Some people see they are frozen up in the north pole and stuff like that, but what do you guys think?

Ibn-e-Battuta thought it was the Great Wall of China, and some used Gog and Magog as metaphors for the Mongolian Tatar invasion of Genghis Khan.

So is there any brother who can explain this?

We do not know with certainty who Dhul Qurnain was.
Nor does Belief require us to know who he was in history.
He was NOT Greek king Alexander of Macedonia.

As brother Amr mentioned, Allah has concealed Gog Magog until He chooses to reveal them.

If I may offer some advice:

1) first, there are matters which are certain and clear and matters which are certain but unclear and there are matters which are uncertain and unclear. When it comes to knowing about the future, or the Unseen/Ghaib, revelation is the only certain source.

2)All matters of the future should begin with Revelation from Allah. However, some matters Allah (SWT) leaves certain but unclear, such as the whereabouts and exact exposure of Gog Magog. It is certain that Gog Magog will come out. It is unclear when exactly or from where.

3) We humans should not preoccupy ourselves with too much speculation about the Ghaib, like what do Houri women look like, will they cook meals for us, is there a jinn in my soup, etc. There is plenty of obligations for us to deal with in the known world.

4)From ahadith, there are various descriptions of Gog Magog which allow for people to speculate about them.
For example, why do you think you should see the metal wall/barrier of Dhul Qurnain?
From the descriptions of the ahadith, everytime they dig a hole, it closes up. This indicates that it is either dirt, sand, or snow which is surrounding the metal barrier. And metal usuall corrodes, called oxidation, over time. However, cold temperatures usually associated with frozen environments, or high altitudes, are known to stop oxidation. Metal airplane parts from nearly 100 years ago have been found in glaciers in near perfect condition.

From this, one can speculate that the metal barrier is either in high altitude or in a snowy, possibly permanently snow covered region.

And as for the whereabouts of Gog Magog, it is possible that they are underground. According to ahadith, they are said to have red hair, tiny eyes, live beyond the barrier. From what is known of ancient primitive peoples, many lived in caves. Red hair is common in humans who have little exposure to sunlight. This may imply that they are not exposed to sunlight, suggesting that they live underground. So if they are underground, the metal barrier of Dhul Qurnain could be at the entrance of a cave or at a mountain pass, therefore not normally visible.

All this is speculation. However, as global warming continues, so too is the melting of regions of the planet once covered in permafrost and frozen. This has revealed all kinds of things trapped in ice, including mammoth carcasses, airplane crash parts and their mummified/frozen casualties, even new shipping routes have opened across the Arctic which was once a frozen wastland. Its pure speculation, but within 100 years or so, there could be a lot of things once covered in snow that are exposed to warming climates, including the metal barrier of Dhul Qurnain.

and Allah knows best.
