Others who have more knowledge about the things your suggesting may be able to help.

As I remember there is a view among ' murubbiya ' and there is a hadith about it ( have to locate it ) on houses , animals etc which are not with barakah or opposite of that .

The way I see it if something is troubling you about the place your staying instead of trying to find out why and what just change it.

Have you considered changing your place ? Don't you think that is an
easier solution ?
