Definitely and while I slowly work through the surahs in a given manzil, reading them on my own one-by-one, I wonder if it would be helpful for my current situation to also listen to a recitation and work through the manzil that way too - follow along with my eyes and ears? Not one or the other but both? Sister Bint-Azam already mentioned that Surah Al-Baraqah must be recited (no recording) and perhaps the same is applicable for all surahs?
Everything associated with the quran has rewards. But the amount of reward varies. Listening to quran is rewarding. I ve heard even just looking at the words of the quran is rewarding. While reciting its better you listen to a recitation along with it. I too m not at all fluent while reciting so i listen to sheikh ghamadi or shaykh abdul basit.
