Ottoman military power wasn't merely the result of them having slightly better swords. It came from the fact that the Janissary Corps. were the first standing army since the Roman legionaries. By standing army I mean a group of soldiers whose primary duty was military combat. Typically most armies were made of local peasants who were conscribed by their feudal lords. These relatively untrained armies simply could not compete against the Janissary Corps, who spent the entirety of their lives preparing for combat. That's why the Ottomans were militarily superior--gunpowder and a great navy also helped a lot too.
