why is it that in the maliki madhab dogs and also their saliva is not considered impure, but is in other madhabs?

what is the reasoning behind this?

The other schools did qiyas on the Hadith of Abu Hurayrah (radiya'Llahu anhu) regarding the washing of the vessel that has been licked by a dog with the pig being najis... Malikis did not.
