Sadness has gripped my heart. Try as I might, I am unable to shake off and distinguish between that which is tahir and that which has become impure. Such fear of cross-contamination has gripped my heart that I do not exit the bathroom until I am 1000% sure that the water dripping from my limbs on to the carpet is pure. I count and count and I tell myself to adhere to the sunnah when washing, but such fear overwhelms me that I end up being stuck in the bath washing my hands asking fatwa after fatwa as to whether something is napaak or not. The tunnel is dark and there seems no way out.
