Asalamu alaykum akhi Abul Hasan,

What about his brother, Shaykh Shuayb al-Aranaut with whom I understand Shaykh Nuh has studied and who is apparently a Hanafi muhadith?

Anyay, regarding Sh. Abdul Qadir al-Arnaut - may Allah swt overlook his faults and enter him into His paradise.

Akhi faqir, who said they are brothers? They are not. I have met Shaykh Shu'ayb, hafizahullah, and he is Hanafi and has no problems with Ashari's/Maturidi's. In fact, a few years ago a Bin Baz student attacked Shaykh Shu'ayb in a published book where they tried to show "Deviations" in Shaykh Shu'aybs Ta'liqat on Ahadith connected to Allah's Sifat!

Shaykh Shu'ayb is one of the greatest Hadith scholars of this time. His greatest achievement may be his editing of the Musnad of Imam Ahmad in 50 volumes! He told me that he was working on an abridgement of the Musnad. That was back in August 2002 in Amman.

Anyway, i do recall Shaykh Nuh's disapproval of Abdal Qadir back in 1995.
