It is correct to note that regimes have either reported or set up false coup attempts in order to carry out various plots of their own against rivals, adversaries, or anyone.
Saddam did this many times. King Hussein of Jordan did this.
Sadat. Karimov of Uzbekistan, not to mention many others.

One note and word of CAUTION: beware of basing ALL of your political insight, awareness, and information from nonMuslims. BY DEFINITION, they are not supportive of Islam and at the very least, are not knowledgeable of belief, of being a believer, or understanding how to submit to Allah.

At the worst, nonMuslims intentionally misguide and are themselves misguided by Shaytan himself.
However, many times nonMuslims report and inform about their own nonMuslim regimes and leaders.
