Just a note: it should be clear from the last year of uprisings that the militaries of the Muslim wrold remain the center of raw, societal power. And most of these centers of power are dominated by America after decades of careful grooming, support, coordination. Pakistan has over 120 million people, but because America controls its military, it has the power to literally assasinate and bomb Pakistanis within Pakistan.
Same with Yemen and elsewhere.

So saying focus on the miltiary is "obsession" is actually diabolically misleading. Egypt remains under America's control despite a mass popular uprising precisely because the Egyptian miltiary is beholden to and has been groomed by America.
