This issue of halal is left to the apparent and explicit such that a company which formally and explicitly advertises its food as halal and a legitimate Muslim government office formally and specifically sanctions it as halal then it is reasonable for the believer to expect it to be halal until proven otherwise.

This is similar to how the Prophet (saaw) addressed the matter.
