this is very good advice. Register with the professional bodies, read journals, look for work experience, be as active as you can in your career inshAllah whatever you choose. Also agree on the muslim women needing dental treatment part, its agood service if you open a practice in a muslim area inshAllah and give the sisters an opportunity of good oral hygene without ghayr muharrams or non muslims treating them

regarding engineering, I agree that if someone is unable to do it they shoudlnt take it up but i do think it shoudl be emphasised as a career choice for the young ummah inshAllah because its engineering that will build our nation up into a powerful nation inshAllah with our own technologies, economies, industries etc
I def agree with you about engineering, since that is definitely the route to developing infrastructure, tech, weaponry, etc. without being dependent on kuffar. I would have loved to do physics/engineering but my brain just isn't wired for it. I'm just not good enough at math. Maybe if I had had better instruction in it during my youth- alas, nothing to be done now.

Chemical engineering, food science, pharma, biotech is important for the ummah as well; we need people who can develop these kinds of products without the use of haram ingredients/procedures.
