What is notable is that Turkish Muslims attract a lot of converts whether due to their pro active work outside or because non Muslims being impressed when they visit Turkey. Compare that to dull response when people visit South Asian muslim population or Saudi Arabia.

I also heard of Westerners converting after visiting the Maghreb. Usually it's (the few) people who stay away from popular beach resorts and guided tours, and adventure on their own into rural areas and get to know the locals.
