Well, I mean their is no scientific proof for this or fossils found of giants and such, a really confusing matter to me that effects my imam greatly.

Really? Giants? That's the most perplexing issue? How about the creation of the entire universe from nothing - with one command - 'Kun' ? How about the existence of Angels, some of which are so powerful they can overturn the earth with a flick of their wing? If we can believe such things, then surely giants are not a problem
