In the Ma'ariful Qur'an commentary (on 53:1-18 I think, not sure I remember exactly) it describes the possibility that Paradise is actually in the 7th heaven.

So what are the heavens then? I was under the assumption that Paradise was synonymous with 'heavens' and there were several levels of Paradise but this doesn't seem to be the case.
