This reminds me of an obituary.
A well known jurist of India died. This happened many years back. Another jurist wrote his obituary and there was one point in that which I have not forgotten since then. The write said that drafting any act or a legal manual is a time consuming and lonely task. So to become known as a jurist one has to put years of lonely work. Perhaps the same is true for most of the real life problems. The real life problems are boring.
And they get solved when some is ready to put some long and tiring hard work. We Muslims have ignored such work for too long a duration.
And then we keep wondering as to why the things are not changing for the better for us.
Coming back to the topic of the OP - I feel there is a complementary approach. We can think of each and every Muslim society, separately and one at a time, and ask as to what shall be the Islamic approach to go further from the current situation.
